Since years i thought about creating a corporate symbol for Her Dark Materials. Finally i asked for professional help.
Thanks to Mister Cleanslate of Steamweaver Printery i have 2 nice logos now i can paste on crates, machines, letterheads and web pages.

Roof

I wanted to have an opera house with an interesting roof.

Nah, no famous building in mind, not at all.

Look at Herr Wotan's winged helmet and the other example.

It could work as a vintage version of the sydn... an opera roof and stands as a metaphor for the classic stageplays that might have happened inside the building.

(later in the process I had to change the roof a bit, to avoid it extending into the neighbours house several meters)

In a weak moment i purchased the plot near my warehouse.
Its the Victory Hall lot in Babbage Palisade and i started to renovate the building a bit.

i found a nice stained glass window for my mansion behind a dirty blackout curtain in a classroom in Yale. it fits quite nicely

these chocolate blobs on top of the corners are gargoyles, made with PloppSL within 2 minutes. room to improve

a decent steel baroness needs an appropriate home. it seems i have to run some tests to determine what i want and how it should look. i could do some sketching and constructing, but building straight away is much more fun.

after a while away, here i am again. inbetween the pile of project papers, there is some architecture waiting to show. the task was a building for events, looking like an old brewery.

one idea was to show opened copper kettles inside the room and represent them at the outside walls, too.

this is a digester driven airship. propulsion and buoyancy are based upon methane.

"Windlass" Supply Winch

someone asked for an unarmed version for cross country riding fun. so i combined two historic exemplars, a winch version and a supply tank into the "Windlass" with some boxes on top, closed sponsons for storage, an upright boiler, a cable winch at the left side and a loose trailed cable. i will leave the TCS system in, so she would not be able to shoot, but can be shot at. for balancing i will make her a little faster, what results in a better climbing rate, too. that will provide a nice prey for interesting missions.

hey what a headline. but i never knew what to write about in my own blog, so i did not own one. years ago while working in an advertising agency i never understood, why i should write down for 10 minutes, what i did the last hour. and i did not know if i had to include the process of writing the log into my log. o-O

here i will try to keep it simple. i will write about some projects i tinker on in Second Life. SL is a great place to create things you are hardly be able to do in the real life.
